I'll tell stories, how it all started, I'll be showing maps and photos. And of course I'll answer the questions from the LIVE chat (*) or you can ask specific questions in advance via this form.

The Simpson Desert can be so hot

In 2008 came the Simpson Desert ban : it's closed from 1 December to 15 March. Ideally travel between 1 May and 31 October.

From December the air temperature can reach 58C (in 2008) and the ground temperature can reach 95C.

If you drive and are stranded in summer, you are dead meat.
